My car door panel was accidentally scratched while moving some things over the weekend. It was caused by a metal bar that slid out of place.
If you look at the attached photo you'll see where the scratch is. It doesn't appear to be very deep but it is definitely noticeable. Is there any way to repair this or at least make it less noticeable?

Any suggestions on how to buff it out or any products to use? Just want to make sure I don't end up making it look worse than it is.

A quick google search suggests that the typical approach is to fill the scratch with epoxy, sand it flush, and paint. How deep is the scratch? You could try something like this if it's not too deep: http://www.amazon.com/Quixx-00070-US-Paint...r/dp/B000UVUAFO

I remember someone that was a detailed cars professionally said to use crayon (just got to match the color the best you can) and use it to fill in the scratched area. I've never tried it but it may be a cheap solution. Another option is to just wax the area which may conceal the scratch a bit.

Since the surface is smooth and not textured, I would use PlastX.

I would try PlastX, however going by my experience with PlastX and ScratchX 2.0 I think the scratch won't be possible to fix.
I think you would have more luck getting a complete door card from a. wreck and just replacing the whole panel. -------------------- 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Active 2.2 CRDi 6spd Auto, Ocean View 2014 Hyundai i30 elite , 1.6 CRDi, 6spd 5dr Hatch, Dazzling Blue 2009 Hyundai i30cw SX 1.6 CRDi 5spd 4dr Wagon, Hyper Silver 2007 Hyundai Getz S 1.4 DOHC 5spd 5dr Hatch, Blue 2005 Hyundai Elantra elit, 2.0HVT 5spd, 4dr Sedan, Ebony Black 1998 Hyundai Excel GX, 1.5 DOHC, 5spd, 3dr Hatch, Red |

PlastX cleans and fills the scratch, so that means it need to be re applied time to time. -------------------- A proud member of the club.
