more like "WEEEEEEEEEEEE...*bang* the eff wuz that?" haha just messing with you

after i start my job and catch up on bills and do suspension on my car, i plan on turboing to about 7psi (stock mazdaspeed psi for the protege). though i think i would turn it up to 10 for more spirited driving at the track

I hope not...otherwise I'll just rebuild the whole thing and make a 800whp DD...

The tranny is rated for about 350 ish or so i have heard from several people, don't take my word as gold.

When you start boosting, don't worry about the welds failing cause it will be more the gaskets.

Most welding deposits are good for about 60,000 psi minimum and then they go up from there for different applications

so unless your boosting really really really high you will never have to worry about the welds blowing out.

Gaskets are a different story.

Sorry to thread-jack....
but is that rating for an auto tranny? It's still unproven...I've asked several people and some tib owners that are near/over 300whp on the stock trannies, but we aren't sure if they are the same as elantras....(Of course I'm talking about the i4 tib tranny and not the v6)

the tranny is essentially the same, but with different gear ratios... but the same exact bits in there

So they have the EXACT same clutch discs and TQ converter? The gear ratios are different...which only really affects the shift points, along with the valvebody....correct me if I'm wrong.
Actually...maybe I should start a new thread...lol

OP...did you ever decide as to get the insulation or not, yet?
