So, I did these things last Thursday, Friday and Saturday just before the meet and haven't had time to post some pics with all that's going on, but here goes.
Roof -- I used ScotchPrint 1080 black gloss vinyl on sale at stickercity.com. This is actually the second time I did this. The first time (about a month and a half ago), it just plain sucked. First, some pollen from a nearby tree got underneath while working and created bumps that I couldn't remove. Second, I stretched it too much and the color was inconsistent. Anyway, this time it was much better. I worked front-to-back this time instead of middle-out. Window tint -- Got a Groupon for a local shop to have four windows done for $80. Paid another $80 for the rear window, so $160 not bad. Guy said he was out of his cheaper stuff, so I got his "professional" stuff. I think it was Llumar brand. Anyway, it looks nice. I saw a Sonata there when I first went that had 35 all around and even in the bright sun I thought it looked dark enough, so I got 35 on the sides and 20 in the rear. Driving into the city all the time, I really don't want to take a chance with LE, so I chickened out of the 20-sides-5-rear idea. People at the meet thought it looked dark for 35. Definned -- Not using XM and the fin was going to be hard to cover, so I definned it. I like it better, personally. I created a small, keyhole sized piece of wood covered with a few layers of vinyl (and then ultimately covered by the roof vinyl) to cover the holes since the sheet metal was not completely flat after removing the fin. It's subtle and looks like it could be something OEM. Plasti-dipped the grille as described in another thread. This is a redux, and will probably be followed by another redux in which I'll paint the upper and lower grilles with actual gloss paint and cover the metal part between with gloss black vinyl. Fog lights -- got the fog lights installed with yellow tint from stickercity.com (also on sale). This is really thick stuff like the lamin-x seems to be. Fog light embellishments -- bought these on eBay a couple of months ago. They were flat black and I painted them gloss black. -------------------- A proud member of the club.
