the meshed grill was my first mod and it made me very happy.

the sway bar is the most satisfying.

stock gt rims being put on by the end of next month with gforce tires will be the next one.

This is a very old thread, but I'd be interested in an update of this topic.

Within the short life with my Elantra I still agree with my answer above.

elantra - mmmmm hella horns or mach 1 lip... the hella horns just looks like " da bizness" but the mach 1 lip totally changed the appearance overall even from a distance

focus - painting the dash flat black with royal blue accents to match the steeda stuff , pics are forever stuck on my razr moto ... i dont know why an ebony black car would have three shades of tan for interior

spec v - custom reservoir covers (i.e. wristbands) - car came with best mods already, but little orange covers (and other subtle things) made it mine.... orange was supposed to match the valve cover job i had planned

Oh no, I'm so sorry... the correct answer is The Moops.

The packaging clearly stated '100'. I'm short ONE luft balloon.

I definitely have to say that my Flowmaster 40 is the most satisfying/surprising mod. I knew that I wanted a car with a bit more rumble (I hate not being able to hear the RPM levels), but I didn't expect the MD/UD Elantras to sound so good with a simple muffler swap! Even the guy at the performance shop I went to commented on how high quality the exhaust system as a whole was. Overall, I was thinking it would be much raspier/ricer like, but it ended up sounding much deeper and much more exotic.

Two thumbs up!

Hey Red,

That's because they don't make any custom setups for the Hyundai- most aftermarket mufflers are sold by model rather than fit to a specific vehicle. I used a Flowmaster 40 series (the loudest they make, designed for hot rods and show cars), and just had the proper inlet size welded on to my current piping. Any good muffler shop shouldn't bat an eye (or charge you more than 200 or so MAX) to just weld a FL40 on your Elantra. You can also have them weld a tip on to the outlet as well if they are good enough to save your madrel bent outlet pipe from the stock muffler.

Honestly, most everything is universal unless you go for a custom tuned, full cat-back system. For simple muffler swaps, the choice is a preference of sound and brand. Just make sure you get one that has a less restrictive flow than stock (most all of them) and you should be good. I just happen to prefer the 40 series because its a deep rumble instead of fart-cannon rasp. thumbsup.gif

Protip: On a smaller engine, any muffler will not sound nearly as loud unless you pull off the factory resonator (not recommended IMO unless you want FART), so I would err on the side of louder rather than something like a turbo muffler.

Hope that helps!

Great topic to bump!

Hard one, the wheels get noticed, the audio upgrades I enjoy every day, but I suppose it's going to have to be something I did on my own without a guide, so I'll go with my footwell lights. Or the whole interior lighting setup? Hmm...

I've done so much its hard to say. 4yrs ago it would have been the OEM wing w/OEM side skirts. They made Hunter look more sporty an unique. I still like them but my recent mods ESP the pioneer deck has been sooo nice. Sound is better (even on stock speakers), iPod control (have an 8gb iPod Nano with over 45hrs of songs), better sub control, bluetooth (paired with my phone) and HD radio (tho i listen to the iPod more). But perhaps the most satisfying was how the headlights came out.

They just look cool and mean esp at night.

My Superdrift spoiler and rear diffuser. Too me it gives it a more agressive personality.

Just started modding the Touring, what with Spring trying to show up.
New rims and windows tinted done last week.
Both make the car so much better looking.

Haven't had them long enough to enjoy yet.

Installing HID's in the OEM projectors. Definitely the best $70 and 20 minutes spent!
