I hear this from a lot of members at EC. Look, while all sedans have some similarities I don't think KIA was trying to copy the Civic. The rear is completely different. The front is quite different too.

I see more of this in the Forte's look than the Civic:

Now be honest. How many of you have seen the Forte SX up close and personal? It looks much better in person.

Put a new Forte next to the pussified Civic and the two don't even look remotely close. I've been saying this for MONTHS but no one listens.... THe Forte looks Butch, aggressive and boxy-esque compared to the civic's round, meek and wimpy shape.

honestly, the only one I've seen up close and personal is a white one that's been done up... and no pics cause I was on my run

Though, I believe it was lowered, with 17(/18)" dark gold rims, lip kit, dark tint and a nice R badge on the back. Not sure if it was the exclusive Canadian SX-R model, or just one that they made into it. Either way drooling.gif

Looks to me like the headlight on the KIA kinks in the middle, the Civic on the very inside. The lower lip does the same thing with kinks in different areas. The grille is completely different, the fog lights have cooling vents beside them where the Civic does not, the hood is on top of the crease on the Civic, on the bottom on the Forte, the Forte has a beak in the middle of the bumper, the Civic does not. I have a feeling I could take many different cars and do the same type of comparison.

Scott you're 100% right. Roy's comparo could be done with any number of cars. If you put a Civic sedan side by side with a Forte they look substantially different. The front end of the Forte is much more "macho" looking and the overall look is less soft. The casual observer says it "looks like a Civic" but the people who have written reviews or really compared the two see they are vastly different. Sorry Roy but I own the Forte SX, have parked it next to a Civic and it's a different animal.

Sure it has a similar lower air dam area, but many cars do. However, I think the Forte's is done much more aggressively especially in the coupe version. The grille is different, the headlights are too. The hood is much wider and sculpted. All of the lines and creases are sharper. The Forte definitely has a more powerful stance. And again, the rear end of the cars are quite different. The vastly different taillights, the Forte deckid's spoiler effect, the fact the Forte has a diffuser, etc...

Another big variation in the side view is the deeply sculpted door/rocker panel area on the Forte.

My impression the first time I saw a 2010 Civic: "Hm. So that's the new Civic." mellow.gif

My impression the first time I saw a 2010 Forte: "Whoa! Nice ride!" look.gif

Which one do you think I favored?
