Hi,
I'm having a terrible time finding the correct trailer wiring for my 2014 Eleantra sedan. We have a small aluminum trailer for pulling kayaks, weighs 200lbs + kayaks and we can't seem to find the correct wiring harness that will still allow the tail lights to function. The Curt C56126 doesn't work - our shop has tried two of them both resulting in the tail lights not working on the car after installation.

Please does anyone have an idea? We are desperate to get this working. Thank you!

Hi, it's interesting that the C56126 didn't work.

According to ETrailer.com - http://www.etrailer.com/t1-2014_Hyundai_Elantra.htm

The C56126 is the only model recommended for the sedan.

If it's definitely a sedan that should work.

I'm wondering if you need the powered converter which would be for the coupe to make the tail lights & flat pole work.

It might be worth reaching out to etrailer to ask? Maybe they've run into this situation.

I remember putting a T-tap in my 09 elantra and it was pretty quick and easy. I ordered from them and they were great with customer service.

Hi, thanks for the info. I checked with etrailer and here is the answer I received:
http://www.etrailer.com/question-111564.html?fb=yes

There is a difference in the tail lights for 2014, as it has led lights. So this kit that is recommended is a bit more complex to install. Bummer.

What trailer are you using?? I was looking for one to pull either kayaks or a canoe. I decided to get some kayaks and I can actually fit both of them AND my large cargo box on my roof rack.. so no trailer tongue.gif
