You could probably do up to 18" rims with 225/40-18 tires as long as they have the proper offset.

I guess the really questions is what are you looking for in wheels. You need ones for winter? Summer? Or lightweight wheel for racing. I really wouldn’t go any bigger than a 18 or 19.

Welcome to the club! As mentioned 18" wheels are really the biggest you would want to put on the car if you are planning on actually driving it. You will still have a little tire left to absorb any potholes/road imperfections, but they will be a lowprofile tire and the 18" size will feel the wheel wells nicely.

dont listen to reason. dont listen to sense.
22".. with the right spacers and fenders off you WILL NOT rub.. unless u turn the wheel. jk, nuthin else to be said... i've had 18" on elantra once and decided immediately i didnt like it( that and couldnt get screws out of rear rotors and it looked really dumb just on fronts)... and i had 18"s on my sentra... if i could do it all over again i'd do lightweight 16's wait... i have lightish weight 15"s .... hmmmmm -------------------- Oh no, I'm so sorry... the correct answer is The Moops.
The packaging clearly stated '100'. I'm short ONE luft balloon. |

Well I just wanted something that would compliment the car. I seen factory hyundai rims used for sale but they were 18" and I wasnt sure if it would look too big since the 2010 elantra isnt that big to begin with. I seen asa rims for sale and they are 17" with winter tires. I think I might just go with that...

17" is a good size. You will have a low profile tire, but there is enough sidewall that you will still have a comfortable drive.
