Kia Global Diagnostic System (KIA GDS) is Kia's counterpart to Hyundai WebTech. I tripped across this tonight on Kia-Forums.com I signed up for a group username:

Have fun browsing around, comparing and contrasting with Hyundai's stuff.

Right off the bat I noticed that Kia has a different electrical system supplier for stuff like fuse boxes.

Looks like I'll never be able to access it from home. . . . Would be nice if they could make some things available to everyone, not just "city slickers". . .

I think the idea, Bob, is that they tailored the system for use by their technicians. They allow others to view it, but are not going to spend money to make it multi-platform compliant. It's designed for the dealers, not for us.

that's funny, my not-at-all-city-slick summer shack in the back woods of the catskill mtns (on a dirt road 9 miles away from the nearest town) has high speed internet...

From what I heard a year or so ago from a guy I know who works for Enterprise and bought a Kia, they use different electrical systems then Hyundai does and generally they suck...

Then again, me telling you something someone told me would be deemed heresay by Judge Milian from Peoples Court.. tongue.gif

That is one thing I've noticed right off the bat about Kias is the different fusebox. I don't know they have different connectors across the board, but the fuse box is different.
