Americanization, and how they seem to want to be called: "HUNday"

How my Korean friend (the guy with the S2000, who drove my car and then promptly got his dad a used '99 elantra) says it: "h'yoon-dai"

naturally, being as white as a white boy can get, I tend towards the Americanized version, and will continue with that unless I ever have the fortune to visit Korea. smile.gif

I used to call it hi-yoon-day (I think much like your Korean friend). But Hun-day seems to be the way its called. Perhaps the hun-dee pronounciation was sort of a nick name?

That's how I've always known it to be pronounced in Europe.

Few years ago they used to run radio and tv ads that said " Have a FUN-Day in your Hyundai (HUN-DAY)

That's how I've always pronounced it.
