Can we get different sections in the forum for the new Elantras? There are enough differences between the sedan, coupe, and hatchback that most topics relating to one wouldn't apply to the other. Plus, there are so many threads on the old models, it's hard to find something applicable to the current ones.
At the very least, it'd be nice if new topics can have prefixes depending on the model. For example, if I wanted to post something for my 2013 Elantra GT, I would prefix my thread with [GD]. If it's for a sedan, prefix with [MD]. That would make navigating the forum and finding relevant information much much easier. Hi xmai77 - Welcome to the club first of all!
Although I am not the leader but am a significant part of the club, my personal statement on this is that the GT/coupe are such brand new cars that we have not acted upon such an idea yet. I know Mitch (club founder) will take this into consideration. I can tell you that there is a specific section titled Elantra MD/UD which is for the newest version of the Elantra -------------------- |

The MD/UD's already have a different section. For now we're keeping the new GT (GD) stuff in the regular Elantra areas. That car is based on the European i30 (although it uses the Nu engine) and as of now our new GT owning group isn't big enough to warrant a separate section. When we have a bigger GD owner group I can see the possiblilty of it's own set of forums. I just don't want to make that move yet.
As far as the topic prefixes, they are there when you make a post and show in forum view. Unfortunately, our software doesn't show the prefixes in new posts view. Honestly though (I'm biased because I created the site lol) between view new posts, the forum search and google custom search and those prefixes in forum view... it's fairly easy to get info here. Of course, I wish more members would use the prefixes. Check out the various parts of the community like the Garages and Product reviews and so on. I think you'll like it here. Welcome to the club btw. -------------------- |

Thanks for the replies. Hopefuly the GT drivers poke their heads out more! if the dealership is to be believed, we should be seeing a lot GDs soon.
