DOOooo IIIiiiTTTtttt!!! biggrin.gif

Though definitely haggle a bunch as you'd be loosing a lot of security with the car (warranty)
I'd also go for some goodie add-ons. Personally I'd get them to add a factory spoiler.

ask yourself if you NEED a new car. the feeling of a new car is nice and all but unless you have extra income to burn, it probably won't make any sense financially if your current car is working fine and does what you need (it's not like you'll gain a ton of extra utility with the wagon over the hatch).

that being said, if you do need a new car or just have extra money to burn or you have just absolutely fallen in love with the car then by all means...

Thats exactly where I'm at. No need / interest in a replacement for the EGT until this caught my eye. Took the wife over Saturday and drove it and looked it over very carfully. It has some kind of alignment issue since both of us thought it pulled to the right. This shows in how worn the rear tires are compared to the fronts. (They were just rotated.)

Got another grand for my car and no movement on his price and we were not wowed by the car even if the alignment issue is sorted out.

So I picked up the rear pads & rotors the GT needed and took care of this car instead.

I'm sure I will hear from them but we honestly don't need a new car and wouldn't have leaped unless it was a stellar deal.

Fun fact about the EGT:
When I had my black 02 hatch I managed to fit my entire dorm room into it and make it home. My parents came down with one of their 2 explorers and they drove back with an empty car following me. I managed to fit all of my clothes, computer, laptop, 2 guitars (one acoustic one electric), 80 watt amp, 2 trash cans, and a mini fridge (taller of the two) into the hatch with the seats down and still could see out of the back of the car just fine. Even with a slipping clutch (first manual car I had owned and driving in the mountains didn't help) it did just fine.

So as far as the space, I don't think anyone would need more room, and if they did, then they would have a minivan or a truck/SUV.

sounds like you made the sensible decision. i'm sure it would have been nice to have a new car but i bet the feeling would have worn out quickly (a lot quicker than your payments anyways!). if anything if you wait a year or 2 on the touring, used ones should see a big drop in price and you can pick one up then for a REAL bargain.
