While I do agree that Hyundai has taken a strange approch and turned the Kia into a stunner, while keeping the Elantra more conservative and still using the Beta motor.

However, I'm wondering if Hyundai decided to keep the Elantra with the Beta and more conservative styling until there has been a bit more development on the theta, since the Elantra is still one of Hyundai's most important models this may be the way they are thinking. The Beta has proven to be reliable and strong.

I think with a face lift Hyundai could turn the Elantra around.

Still think the XD Elantra is the most unique styling from Hyundai so far. The HD is very Corolla-ish and the Forte / Cerato is very Civic looking. Nothing looking like the XD.
