I bought a used front light but it was aiming too high.
It was disturbing the drivers on the opposite lane. I tried to re-adjust it by the screws but no response looks like the aiming mechanism problem. Please advise. -------------------- A proud member of the club.

I just bought my Elantra and had the same problem - one light illuminating the tree tops and the other aimed about 10 feet ahead. My lights were not responding to the adjusters either. I was ready to buy new lights when I found a thread that said, if the bulbs are not installed correctly, you get mis-aimed lights and the adjusters will do nothing to help. I took the light assemblies out, took off the dust covers, unplugged the wires, and released the springs and guess what? Both bulbs were installed 180 degrees off! FYI, the bulb has a tab and the holder has two slots the tab can fit into. HOWEVER, the bulb base is not round and neither is the holder. To me it was pretty obvious, when looking at the holder and bulb, how it is supposed to go in. When it is not correct, the base of the bulb cannot sit flush in the holder. Because it was not flush for a long time, I needed to re-bend one of the springs so it held the bulb securely. After saying all of that, when I reinstalled the light assemblies and plugged everything back in..... the aim was virtually perfect. Interestingly, the adjusters still are not working (maybe I broke them by trying to adjust them so much before I got the correct answer), but the aim is so close to perfect, I don't care. I hope this solves your problem. One last note; I have receipts from the previous owner for replacing the bulbs - by the dealer, who didn't get the job done correctly!
