Too long. Did not read. LOL
It looks nice; Ish and Bob might be right about it being tall but... all cars are taller now. They have to be if they're going to be rammed by SUVs.
I'd bet the seating position height of all new cars is a good 2-3" taller than it was just 5 or 10 years ago.

The beltline is too high, as almost all cars are nowadays. The green house looks 2-3" too tall. And then they jack up the suspension 2-3" Because you know, a high center of gravity is great for handling.

Almost all new cars now have proportions out of shape -- especially at the rear, where there is too much space between the bottom of the trunk and the rear lights.

Just a quick comparison shows an '03 Elantra Hatch to be slightly longer (10mm) and 230mm higher than the Cee'd. I think a visual perspective might be in order, will this ever happen? More likely than me moving to Europe so I can consider this or any other bitchin' car they have and we will never have...

I already live in an Aussie type landscape, and yes people talk funny here too (like dood...), I enjoy Europe the heat factor is much less (unless you go to Spain...) but to each his own I guess.

Height: 1450-1490mm (C'eed), 1425mm (Elantra XD), 1481mm (HD), 1519mm (FD, Touring)
Width: 1790mm (C'eed), 1724mm (XD sedan), 1719mm (XD Hatch *Huh?!*), 1775mm (HD), 1765mm (FD, Touring)
Length: 4250-4490mm (C'eed), 4495mm (XD sedan), 4519 (XD hatch), 4506mm (HD), 4475mm (FD, Touring)
Ground Clearance: 150mm (C'eed) 149mm (HD) 150mm (FD, Touring)

I think we're right - this car is 1-2.6" taller than the XD and at least an inch shorter (the C'eed hatch is 10" shorter than the XD hatch).
However, the C'eed is also wider (I should have done track width, oh well) than the XD by a good several inches, which should help handling.
