According to news sources, Hyundai posted a 40% sales increase in April. That's amazing and they sold more cars here (61,754) than ever before. The Elantra was the top seller, surpassing the mighty Sonata (22,100 vs. 21,738 sold). Here's the number that is really staggering... Last April, Hyundai sold 9,667 HD Elantras. This year over 22,000... that's a 128% sales increase.
On a side note... while we're seeing a lot more new Elantra owners at the club, we're unfortunately not getting a ton of active posters. Hopefully new MD/UD buyers will see this place is not just for modders and more of an owners forum.

According to the Free Press, the Elantra was the #9 selling car in April, and the Sonata was #10.

5.3% is not bad for an "underdog."
Since Hyundai and KIA are the same car company, that means they own a 9.4% share of the market. They're knocking on Chrysler's doorstep.
