DAMN YOU TOYOTA!

Like my issues I had with my car due to LED lamps.... WAY to much dummy features, electronics and safety things.............

Errr.... well I guess it's not a bad thing BUT I wish there was an option.

Hey-Audi had a throttle/brake pedal issue way before Toyota. Their sales plummeted because of the bad publicity.

No more trail-braking either... there has to be a better way than just killing all throttle at the merest suggestion of brakes.

Unbelievable.... these so called "uncontrolled accelerations" are caused by people hitting the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. This override thing will change nothing, because it's hooked up to the brake pedal, which people are still going to miss.

For the record, and unless there's a major issue with your brakes, any of today's cars can be stopped from 60 mph under full throttle using nothing but the brake pedal. It may not be good for the brakes, and it won't be your shortest stop, but you will stop. Also, anyone not capable of shutting down an engine or put the transmission to N in an emergency situation should not be driving.

+1. It's called an ignition switch and all cars have them installed since the 1950's.

I don't agree with this at all. I've been driving for 17 years, and have NEVER had an accelerator malfunction issue, and I've probably owned 12 different vehicles... (Yes, I have vehicular ADD). For the car manufacturers to do this is ridiculous, but I can sort of understand why they do it. They are doing this to simply protect themselves from lawsuits like Toyota had after their "acclerator problem", which, IMHO was just someone who didn't know how to drive, but that's another topic altogether.

If it is similar to the Tacoma we got rid of it isn't too awfull.

They did it as an update / recall after the Prius mess. On my way home going 70 with my foot stead on the gas, I tapped the brake it it slowly pulled off the rpms. it wasn't an instant as if I jumped off the accelerator loss of power.
