Can I make a suggestion? Throw the HAynes in the garbage and sign up on www.hmaservice.com to get correct information. Haynes manuals suck. They are generic and cover weird years that do not cross. You would be MUCH better spending the money for OEM manuals, or going online and getting it there.

Transmissions are hard to diagnose and you need to take it to a transmission shop.

In the shop when I started doing transmissions I did realize how much there was to learn and that its never as easy as it looks to fix.

I just noticed that the clutch drag or whatever it is only happens when the tranny is cold. When warm, there is no drag at all.
