Just noticed in the pic, about 2~3" above the brake light, there are two black velcro-like' tabs.
The left one has a plastic piece still attached.
Did your attaching tab break off from the inside of the trim?

No, mine didnt break, but the velcro lost is ability to stick to the glass. The Texas heat warped the plastic piece and i get the brake light shining in the inside rear glass. I tried fixing it with some insulation foam tape, but i still get some light that shines in the back.

Yeah, one of mine broke off too. It's meant to be put on once and never removed. If you remove it, you're taking your chances. I've probably broken two or three tabs off my hatch trim. No rattles, though.
