QUOTE (Ishtar @ Mar 29 2007, 11:05 AM)
$318 per month lease due April 27th 2010 (@3.43 APR).  Then for the low low price of $7500 plus 14% tax I could own the car outright.

Ish I feel ya brother, I'm right there with you, except it's 350 a month for me then $7250.00 to get it, good old financialinx, lol, I dunno if i'll keep the car that long though, unless med school really puts me in a burden, then maybe the new genesis rolleyes.gif , or the new g35 type S 6 mt

There's no such thing as a "perfect car". All cars are good for a period of time. Then they either break down or just get boring, and you want something else.

It's like chicks. No matter how hot she looks, always remember....there's some guy out there who's sick of her sh!t.

I had payed off about 3 grand of my rx7 when it got stolen (it was financed through my dad), then I used the insurance money to buy the Elantra (it cost me 8k out the door) (again, financed through dad), then after I graduated tech school my dad told me that it was his gift to me...

I love my dad...

2007 Elantra Limited- Wrote the dealer a check for the full amount from our Charles Schwab brokerage account, after selling some investments that were not up to my standards when doing quarterly portfolio analysis in December 2006-so I got the benefit of the tax deduction!

And talk about an ROI! I LOVE the Elantra. The technological sophistication of the vehicle for the price is unbelievable. I am saving about $200 a month in fuel costs alone, by parking the 7.4 liter Suburban and not using it as a commute vehicle. The savings will only get better. IMHO, regular unleaded will be $3 by Memorial Day and $4 by 4th of July. And this is in TEXAS!

And I cannot say enough good things about how great this board is, and how helpful the members have been when I have asked questions. This is our first Elantra.

And yes, I do plan on becoming a lifetime member, before you even ask!

0$, I paid it off cash at the dealer smile.gif

Yeah, I had been pretty much saving up ever since my first job, lol. No car payments is a great feeling.

Please, by all means, don't believe me in that post I just wrote, because everything I say is myth and a product of my imagination, and WILL result in the destruction of your own vehicle (according to some).

I pay $253.58 per month @ 9% interest. It's high, because I still have student loans I'm paying off. But I've already paid back $5,000 of the $14,000 I owe. I should have it paid off in two years or less.

Car payment is $323 a month, I've been paying $350 whenever I can. I am about to make payment 5 of 72, so still quite some ways to go for me.. but once the credit cards are paid off (later this year), the loan balance will be rapidly falling, as I then plan to pay $600 or more per month.

It's 72 months at 8.75%.. but that's when my credit score was 626.. currently 677 and rising. Once I'm down to trade-in value on the payoff, I may re-fi and get a lower interest.
