Yes he is right to some point! But AIO does polish at the same time! So tell the guy that!

It Polishes, Cleans and Protects! Damn, it's written on the freakin bottle! He might be getting mixed up with polish & swirl remover. Polishing does not always remove swirls (some say they do but they are minimal), it preps the surface. Also, tell him to visit DetailCity.com! He'll get the scoop on all those products!

Where to use it in the procedure? Mia, there is no other way to use it... It should be the first item you apply before waxing! Paint preperation! Tell the guy also it just doesn't clean... It protects and protects very well! Of course there are other steps you can apply before, like claying.

Sorry, I don't like seing bad info being said on products that are praised and vastly used due to their polishing, cleaning and protection capabilities.
