Well somehow I missed this, but Hyundai and Kia are going to offer lump sum payments in lieu of receiving the periodic debit cards for the understated mileage. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the lump sum payment amount is before I decide on whether to keep with the periodic payments or just take the lump sum.

Once more info starts rolling out, I'll have to look at setting up a poll to track what other owners decide to do. For now it is too early for me to decide. Any of you have thoughts on what you will do or have you heard any further information in relation to this?

Hey-I read about the lump sum payment a few weeks ago, but I haven't decided which plan is best. I do plan on keeping my '13 GT for quite a few years, so the mileage payment might be the best way to go. I'll decide when I hear more for my particular case.

I've heard $350 is the average for hyundai where Kia would be higher. My inlaw said he's going to take the lump sum as it's easier for him instead of going to the dealership everytime.

Hey-I plan on using the dealership for maintenance so having them calculate the mileage wouldn't be an issue with me if I pick that method of payment.

Clearly a bad deal for me to take the lump payout. The GT was only overstated by 1 MPG and will get below the average payout, plus they said they will minus the amount you have already been paid via the cards. I have gotten about $75.00 back so far at the first year. So... If the GT gets like $200 lump and minus what they paid out already, then I would get about $125 lump or I could continue with the $75 per year.... Huh.... I think I will be sticking with the rebate cards. Like others, I take my car to the dealer anyway. I wonder if the leadership turn over had anything to do with the mileage "mistakes" and how they decided to deal with it. I love the car and getting my moneys worth so I don't feel too "damaged" but given the two options; I am taking the no brainer deal.

I'm curious if the lump sum option takes into account the area you live in. Greenville has possibly the lowest gas prices in the nation, which while that is great everytime I fill up, obviously leads to a lower periodic payment. If the lump sum is just based on the car and national prices for gas, then that might be the better option?

So I am a little late to the party on this, but I just read a news article on this. How do I find out if I am eligible for some sort of reimbursement? I have a 2013 Elantra sedan and have never been contacted by Hyundai regarding this.
