ElantraClub - For Elantra Owners and Enthusiasts _ EC Site Comments _ "Hidden" club gems

Posted by: elantragt Dec 14 2011, 09:51 AM

Benman posting yesterday about not knowing we had all our polls in one place got me to thinking. Yes, the forum with its topics and posts is the main part of the club, but, there's so much more coolness to be found at EC. I'm not talking the ElantraWiki, Arcade, Gallery, Garages, Reviews etc... Hopefully members are already aware of those and use them, where allowed. I'm talking about stuff I've added over the years that makes EC a truly superior place to be a member of.

Note
: Not all features are available depending on your member level.

Let's talk about some of the lesser known and used features of the club.

There are the areas that are important that get overlooked, let's talk about a couple of those first:

The http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=gmap. Here's one of the coolest areas that so few have used. Pin yourself on the world map. It's a fun and useful feature. You can pin your location precisely or just use a nearby area.

http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=tt_trader. Even though it's in the Classified rules few do it. If you post something for sale, and it's gets sold, buyer and seller leave feedback, Ebay style.

The http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?act=Help. You can find some excellent tutorials there that will make your time at EC a lot better.

How about one of the most important areas for all members. The
http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=00 section. This is the most important area for any member, yet few really know how cool it is. Sure you can do basics like update your profile and set club/forum preferences. But, did you know (depending on member level) you can have an "away message" for those times you'll be away from the boards? You can submit videos to be shown in your profile? Add a song to your profile? Manage your friends list? Upload pics directly to your Gallery album? It's a very cool section.

What about My Assistant? Ever use that? Not only can you view new posts, search and check your PM's from one convenient place there's also some awesome info to be found there.

The http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?act=calendar. It's not just for Mr. Mitch to post holidays and stuff. Any member can post events... car shows... really anything. You can even post private events that are for your eyes only; did you know that?

Then there are the areas which can really help the community. Things like the "http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=showpolls" and "http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?act=Search&CODE=t23_vut_get" can help EC grow.

For the stats geeks there's some interesting areas like the
http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=statistics page.

Have you ever even looked at the http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?automodule=downloads zone?

Do you look at our member
http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=blog?

Is the http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=chatpara room a hidden gem? In a way it is because so few use this fun feature. Ever tried http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=sudoku? I thought not.

Did you know you can send E-Cards directly from the Gallery to your friends/family?

Oh, did you know we have some basic club http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?act=boardrules?

When you purchase stuff online, do you go through the Affiliate links at http://www.elantragtclub.com/id607.html? I hope so because we benefit from that and those funds help keep us online.

Bottom line, I've tried to make EC as amazing as I possibly can. To the casual members it's the forum and that's it. To the true EC lovers, there's a lot to love and check out here at ElantraClub.

Nice. I hadn't seen the statistics page--very cool. My alias isn't showing up right though. No biggie, but may be true for others?

On the stats page it will show the name you signed up as, which is not always your current screen name. There's no workaround for this minor "glitch" but you know who you are. laugh.gif

Don't forget the lifetimers get to pick a song for their profile page.

I actually did mention that in the My Controls part of the post, biggrin.gif
