Hi! Just thought I'd drop in and say greetings on the forum. I've been driving my new baby for about 1200 miles so far and I'm in love with my car. I traded a 2 year old Prius for it (which was an outstanding vehicle) but this one is so much fun to drive.
I've been reading on the forum here about the spare tire kit I can buy. I'm a little confused as to whether I actually can fit the same tire I have on the car in that well and just get a full size 215 45r17...... I'm also confused on the lug nut. I read somewhere in here:) that if the lugs are on the 17" aluminum wheels and I have to put a steel wheel donut on, the lugs may not fit correctly? Ugh. How does a person know what to do? -------------------- 2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited, Phantom Black Metallic, and ooh la la.... the tech package!

Welcome to the club. Make sure to fill out your profile and have a look around. Here is a must read thread on all the cool things we have to offer.
http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35829 Alright in to your Question at hand. I believe you can use the same nuts for different wheels. Most people have gone with a full size spare and tire for the car. Welcome and post a few pictures of the new car. -------------------- "This may be true but it is a chrysler sebring which is synonomous with being a p.o.s. car. The packaging clearly stated '100'. I'm short ONE luft balloon. |

the full size tire will fit the width but it will stick out of the well about 1-2 inches so your rear floor will not sit flat.
the stock nuts should work fine for steel wheels. -------------------- 2014 Veloster Turbo - racecar

the full size tire will fit the width but it will stick out of the well about 1-2 inches so your rear floor will not sit flat. That stinks. On the new GT's you can get a full size wheel in there and have the floor sit flat. At least the stock 17" wheel fit. Never tested the sedan though. -------------------- Please consider helping keep the club online and independent. Donate here to help the club.

Thanks for all the info! I think I'll get the donut:( I don't want my floor to not sit flat.... the car looks so sleek and sexy, then pop the trunk and doh! The floor ain't right! Good to know the lugs should work though. I saw a link in here for a spot to get the donut on ebay, so I'll go there.

Affiliate links.... oh I see it. I will do that.
Went to NTB to have Continental Extreme Contact DWS put on (selling the Hankook H426) - they scratched one of my rims . It was raining when I left so I didn't look before leaving the shop, but when I got home I noticed all the gooey stuff on the rims (they left them very dirty). I wiped them all down to find that the drivers side has a few chiggers on it that were not there before. They were pristine when I brought it in. I have a meeting with the manager tomorrow but am wondering if it's just a waste of time. Very unfortunate to trust a company with your vehicle and give them a lot of hard-earned cash only to have them treat your stuff poorly. Unhappy. -------------------- 2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited, Phantom Black Metallic, and ooh la la.... the tech package!

The size is 215 45R17, 1200 miles on them, selling all four for 90.00 each, not selling separate. Tire rack is selling them for 109/ea (granted, brand new). Pics attached.
