Ok, I plan on doing an intensive wash and detail. Well i plan on doing some things i never did before. I want to wash the car, clay bar it, use rubbing compund to remove scratchs and swirls, polish, and then wax. Is that the right order for all that stuff?

You are on the right track indeed! When you clay, make sure to use A LOT of lube! Also make sure to fold the clay over itself very often. Depending on the size of the bar, I usually cut mine in half. Because if you drop it on the ground, it's no good! At least you have part 2 for you to keep going in case part one fell on the ground!

That's the right order. This reminds me, my car is due for its detail next week. I'll have to polish too because of the love bugs coming out in my area.

Make sure you take pictures! I'm holding off until the end of summer before I do my annual clay. That way It'll be done after all the bugs have squashed themselves on my car.

Try this http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php...E=03&id=261 .. DO NOT use rubbing compound!! the Elantra paint is very thin and so is the clearcoat, an aggressive compound is deadly even by hand if this link didnt work,, Go to the clubs Elantra WIKI.Also, go to the product review section and browse through it, you will then see what people here have had the best luck with for various situations,.. just trying to help

Depends on how bad the surface is. If you have never clayed, it will take the whole thing. Remember, start from the top and work to the bottom!

Also, that compound tree recommended is easy to use, inexpensive and is very mild and does a great job with patience! Aggressive compounds are for more experienced people!
