Hi, everyone -
For the minority of you all out there with an Elantra Touring, you may be interested in this thread. I've been shopping for some performance springs and finally settled on a pro-kit from Eibach Federn. This is the German arm of Eibach. These springs don't show up under the U.S. Eibach site for the ET, but they fit and look awesome. As far as installation, not too difficult. Just sign up at hmaservice.com and follow the shop manual instructions.

Also, in case you're wondering, the H&R springs for the ET on Tirerack.com are not in stock. These spring are still "in development" and won't be shipping till late October at the earliest.

Looks great! Can you give us some more details on the springs? What's the drop (looks perfect, btw)?

It's rated at 1.2-1.5in in the rear and .75-1in in the front. I got about 1.5" in the rear and a smidgen below 1" in the front. So about what it says on the site. There are several springs out there for the i30 that drop more, but only a few specifically state they can support the axle weight of the 2.0. I played it safe and went with the ones I knew would support my vehicle's weight.

Honestly, I don't really like the look of the spoiler. I was at the dealer a couple of weeks back getting a small warranty repair on a window switch and I saw a black one with the spoiler. It just doesn't look right. I'll probably change my mind eventually, though. This thing's a money pit.

The car looks much better with the drop--nice find. Any alignment issues with the new springs? I assume that you gained some additional negative camber--or did you use camber bolts to 'correct' back to OE settings?

No alignment issues. Just let them "settle" for a day or so, got the alignment, and everything's fine (no drifting on the highway). I didn't use the camber kit from Eibach, but I don't think it's going to be a problem. In fact, I had a slight vibration in my steering wheel before that I thought was due to a bent wheel, but after getting the alignment no more shakes.

Is the ride quality on par with OE?

Identical if not better. I don't notice they're on until I take a turn at speed and there's less body roll. I really was pleasantly surprised with the highway ride.
