well, there's a possibility of me moving to the Kansas City area,
don't know which side... maybe missouri... somewhere close to the city...
if the fiancee' (by then my wife) takes a job out there..
i'm packing up my bags and puttin the elantra on a trailor..
and driving out there...
so, here are a few questions:
- emissions Laws , how strict are they out there?
- do cops bother import drivers out there with rims and such tells?
- how's the food?
- how's the weather (sorry for my ignorance)
- is it better to Commute from Kansas, or Missouri?
THANKS ALL !
any members out there?

Hello everyone!
I don't own a Elantra, but instead have a Tiburon.
Here she is!
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2252125and some quick pics if you're too lazy too look!
Not exactly recent though, as it's too dirty from all of the salt on the roads right now!
Anyway, I have done some LED interior lighting for the Tib and would like to branch out and try it for the Elantra!
What I do is assemble kits for the LEDs. They run about $14-$25 per component, with discounts for packages.
Here is some of the stuff I have done, and the banner for my "company" lol.
I am in the final development stages for these things:
So I was wondering if there are any Elantras in the St. Louis, Missouri area willing to bring their car over to my place for 5 hours or so on a Saturday so that I can research, install, and make an instruction manual for the Elantra kits.
You would get all of the Vent LEDs and cupholder LEDs all free, any color you want. (This package is sold for $40 on a regular basis)
Here's some threads on NT.com for some credibility on my part:
http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87439You can click the links to the other products from that page, and see the numerous people I have sold to.
And my feedback thread:
http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95228So is there anyone out there who's up for it?

Hey everyone,
I've mentioned I think it would be wicked for all of us Detroit/Windsor Michigan to get together and chill out (or mod, or whatever). I was thinking a weekend day either in late March or early April (save Easter weekend) would be cool. Anyone up for some low-key chillage? Check out our whips, maybe grab some grub and talk XD/2.
I was also thinking, for the more adventursome we could hit this up:
If you are a novice competitor with only a few events under your belt or someone who had never before heard the word "autocross" but would like to learn how to control a car at the limits or just drive with better control and more confidence, then this school is for you!
The classroom session will introduce the basic concepts of autocross - from what an autocross event is and how it is run, to basic performance driving theory. The in-car sessions the following day will re-emphasize these concepts by letting you experience them first hand in your own car under the instruction of experienced Solo II competitors. We expect to group 2 students with one instructor and are planning for as many as 10 runs total (5 runs on each of two different courses).
Classroom Session
Friday, May 4th
Registration check-in from 5:00-6:15pm - Classroom instruction 6:15-10:00pm
Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, Michigan
Lear Auditorium (Enter the lot off 10mile)
In-car Instruction
Saturday, May 5th
Arrive by 7:00am, runs begin at 9:00am. Students must attend the classroom session to be eligible for in-car instruction.
Lawrence Technological University
21000 West Ten Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan
We run rain or shine! Get Registered Early!
# In order to maintain a proper student to instructor ratio and ensure ample driving time for all attendees the school is limited to 70 students - on a first come, first served basis. Pre-register now to reserve your space at this incredibly popular event!
# Students MUST attend classroom session in order to be eligible for in-car session.
# School fee is $60, must be an SCCA Member to attend.
# Entries received after April 21st will be subject to $5 late registration fee.
# Registration closes on April 28th.
# SCCA membership can be processed with your school registration; an application is available from
http://www.scca.org/ in .pdf format.
# On-line registration for this event CAN be paid by mail to the registrars address listed below.
# Online payment through paypal is also available.
# If you register online and are not an SCCA member, then you should send your SCCA Membership application and payment to the address below.
# If paying for both SCCA membership and school entry fee - include two checks (one for membership, one for school).
# Make check(s) payable to "Detroit Region SCCA" and send to: Detroit Solo School, 1605 Petrolia Drive, West Bloomfield, Michigan, 48324
# Entries must be received before the registration deadline: Friday April 28th, 2006.
# Your registration will be confirmed when your check(s) have been received.
If you are under 18: Competitor waivers MUST be signed by BOTH parents. Contact the chairmen to have one sent, so that you can bring it with you to the race. This will be valid with both parent signatures as long as one parent is present. Minor spectators only need one signature. Yearly minor waivers still need both parents signature.

ATTN: ALL HYUNDAI SHOW CARS
BBQ, Blues'N Cruise-In August 27 - August 28
The name says it all. BBQ food, live blues music and vehicles of all kinds displayed throughout the park.
This is a great show INSIDE the local six-flags water park, you get to show off your car and enjoy all the rides and water fun in the park. I finally received info back from the head of public relations as to what to expect at this years show.
Here is the info I received from him:
The package will be altered slightly this year. We are planning on giving away two (2) free tickets each day (car show entrant + 1) and breakfast and lunch will also be provided at no charge. We have new and improved giveaways this year including a large prize raffled off each day (it hasn't been confirmed yet so I will not get specific).
And the best change this year is:
One thing that is different this year is that we are not making the cars stay in the park all day long. We will be loaded in by 9:30 and the cars (and motorcycles) will have a Cruise-Out at 2:30 pm. If people and their cars want to stay, great, but they have the option to leave if they so desire.
Last year we had to stay in the park till 8pm due to insur issues.
He didn't have info about entry fees yet, But last years was $10 for both days and it should be around that. He said he will be sending me some entry forms as soon as they are ready.
I would love for this to be a big turn out for HYUNDAI owners. I will post any new info I get in this thread. And please post here if you are interested in showing your car and I will get you the forms as soon as I get them.
Greg
I will be keeping a list over on XD of all the Hyundai owners that are going to come out, so post here with which days your planing on coming and if u are a def or maybe.
Any questions - email me at gmcbride73@excite.com

I will be flying in for the Woodward Dream Cruise and I can't wait. I've gone every year with my dad and grandpa and am looking forward to continuing the tradition. It used to be alot easier for me to go since I used to live about 7 miles off woodward, but now it's more like 2500 miles. My schedule is going to make it a short trip though, I arrive friday at 11:00 pm, and leave sunday at 7:00 pm. But how many people are actually planning on attending?

Someone is setting up hotel or camping info. If anyone is interested let me know, I'll post over there for you. You get a discount on Racing on Sat at Cordova. There will be other Hyundai's there also--sonata's and an accent for sure. This location is only about 2 and a half hours from the Chicago area. COME ONE COME ALL!!

hey guys...i know i dont post here much, as i am more frequently on EXD, but i thought id post this here too...im just gonna copy the other thread...
sort of a meet/install day...shadow5606 (exd, maybe on here?) will be coming over to my place to get my intake/exhaust from me, and we will be installing them while he is here...also, i will be getting some new springs, as my b&g are making rattling sounds in the rear, so we will probably install those as well...we'll get some beer, and ill get some burgers/hot dogs to grill some food...hopefully, some other people can come, even if youre a couple hours away to chill for the day...were gonna be gettin together on march 26th, so if you have anything youve been waiting to install, bring it and we'll all work to get everything done...i have air wratchet and impact gun and an air compressor, so if you have other air tools that may be beneficial, bring em! ive got a 3 car garage, with one spot open now (broke ass car in the other side) but should have 2 by then...im trying to get the broken car gone, since im done messing with it...
so, 2 car garage, beer, food, elantras...whos down?
march 26th, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230 (so you can mapquest it, check out driving distances)
post here if you will be coming, and ill update this thread so we know whos gonna show
