DFWHyundais had a meet two weeks ago. It would have been great if people had brought their Hyundais! We had about 15 people there, but due to various reasons, people carpooled and stuff and we only had one Tibby and, of course, my Elantra.
We're going to correct that this Friday. The particulars are:
Mercado Juarez Restaurant
125 Interstate 20 EArlington, TX
Phone: (817) 557-9776
Time:
7:00 Dinner (meet in the lobby). After dinner, we'll hang out in the parking lot and check out each other's rides.
If you want to eat with us, please come over to the thread at
DFWHyundais.com and let us know and we'll add you to the reservations. At least a few people are bringing spouses/kids.
Paki will have some DFWHyundais.com window stickers.
We hear that Dave of Deviant Konceptz will be there, and Dave said he talked to Mark McClung from HMA - Dallas office who drives a burnt orange Tib. He is thinking about coming out Friday night as well.
Among Dave's "works of art" is this 07 Elantra
(car will not be there Friday) :
Hyundai Elantra done up by David Brensend that, in addition to a healthy slathering of gouge-your-eyes-yellow and beautifully rendered flames, gets a diabolical joker airbrushed onto its hood.
The Elantra benefits from an aggressive four-piece body kit. The 18-inch Enkei NT03+M wheels, shod in Dunlop Direzza tires along with a custom dual exhaust. The only thing that's changed from the base model inside is the addition of a set of Cobra Sidewinder seats, a harness bar, the Infinity Audio setup and Ichibahn pedals.

If anyone from the Houston area knows of a sports bar near Reliant Stadium that has NHL Center Ice and would be willing to devote one screen to the Buffalo Sabres-Ottawa Senators game Saturday, Nov. 18, let me know. I'll be down there from Fort Worth and my brother and several friends are traveling down from Buffalo so see the Bills play the Texans the next day at Reliant.
Thanks....

I've also learned that this weekend, June 10, there will be a

http://www.dfwhyundais.com/component/optio...,52/topic,294.0We're planning June's DFW meet! We'd love your input on it. Right now we're thinking about doing something at Sneaky Pete's / Lake Lewisville, but its all subject to change. If you want to come, just reply and let us know what you want to do
We're planning for an All-day saturday thing, instead of our previous meets which have all been on Sundays. This would help out if you're coming from Houston or any other part of texas

The Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, with 318 curves in 11 miles, is America ’s number one motorcycle and sports car road. The nearby Cherohala Skyway is quickly becoming number two with its remote 60 miles of scenic mountain highway. The area also has other roads less traveled, but just as exciting.
Come and discover them all!
http://www.tailofthedragon.com/I really want to try it@!!!!!
Who's down for a weekend meet! It's 400 miles from me.... well worth it in my book!

I just found out that I won't be able to make it to the Hills Meet because Gena and her family are taking me to Disney World for a week at the same time as the meet. So I just wanted to tell all the people in Florida that I am driving my car (Gena hates flying... damn) to Disney this summer.

Hey all, wifey and I are going to visit my brother in laws place on the north side of dallas at thanksgiving. know any REALLY good restraunts in the area to treat the inlaws to?
Also, my brother-in-law is a great guy, but he's mechanically stupid. Where is a good shop to do a t-belt job on a 95 Toyota turtle? This car needs more than that, but he won't know what to do.
Any help is appreciated!

Howdy!
I've been in Orlando for a week now and I'm feeling the need for some tinting because it's just too damn hot. I'm going to leave the front windshield and side windows alone to comply with California regulations, and I was thinking of going for something like a 30% tint on the rear five windows (I'm counting the opera windows on the hatchback). Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good tinting place in and around Orlando, preferabley towards the Winter Park area. I'm willing to pay $100-$200 for a quality job, I want it done professionally.
Thanks!

well,i just got back from pa the day before katrina made landfall.... and i didnt have much time to get ready for it, so me and my family went to the navy bachelor housing in Pascagoula, mainly because we didnt feel to comfortable in the naval housing we live in........I am very sad to report that my Elantra Is Gone.....it was flooded to its roof..... and the bad part is. my insurance had ran out due to me being in PA...... well i have contacted FEMA(Federal Emergency Management Agency) and they are going to give me a low interest on another car... as for my hyundai,, luckilly i purchased the on side Gap Protection Plan...... so its going to get paid off atleast.......our home was ok, only suffered minor wind damage..... and we were without power for about a week. and cable just got turned on today..... so i havent got a chance to let ya'll know im safe....... thanks to everyone who had their prayers out for me... obviously they have been answered...... i really appreciate the concern.... im still shocked. that all the casinos that were on barges in biloxi got tossed like legos..... there is a casino. on the other side of the highway (highway 90) sittin on a house...... and there is a house also blown onto highway 90............
and there are around 10 deaths reported in my county so far, and they are not anywhere close to being finished... so there will be more unfortunatly..........
this is definetly the closest i have ever seen to complete Anarchy.....it is definetly sad to hear about people losing thier houses and everything they own....
people are killin each other over, gas, ice, food, its horrible.... itd definetly one thing to see the carnage on the news. but to acually see it in person makes you appreciate life on a whole new level......... my prayers also go out to everyone that was affected by this catastorphe........
i lost my car but i consider us being very lucky that only thing we lost is replacable.....
we took tons of pictures of flooding during the hurricane... and a ton more pics of the aftermath and the hellish damage left to observe... as soon as things start gettin back to semi-normal state i will get them scanned and i will post them... its is very interesting and at the same disturbing...... nothing worse than cruising down a street you have been on many times... and seeing all the houses that were there 2 weeks ago totally ripped down to the foundations.....
but once again thank you all for your concern... and thanks for all the prayers...
