I did a little chart showing the M16 stereo connector pins:
This is great! thank you!
Nice resource.
Pinned!
Mitch,
The Edmunds CarSpace people asked me to do a writeup on installing a head unit in an Elantra (I've guided people through it several times and they now have a Guides section). It's a pretty comprehensive writeup; if you want to add it to the DIYs, that's okay with me. Just to warn you though: I linked to Aaron's DIY for installing the bin with the door, but I also linked to EXD's fascia removal DIY (since theirs has a picture). Anyway, here is a link to the guide:

The link's not working for me Dooh... but it could be my crappy Millenium Edition acting up again here.

Hmmm... weird. I logged out of Edmunds and clicked the link and it still worked, so, yeah, I blame Bill Gates.
it worked for me and is a very good write up.
this just saved my life as i attemp to install an indash dvd player. the previous owner had it spliced into a factory harness, but it was the worst splice job i've ever seen!
Did you want to get an original connector back on to make everything clean? I saw one on ebay for I think $13 shipped.
Doo, yoo are deh man!
I will be using this and the DIY to install my new Alpine IDA-X001. \/\/øø†!
Is there a new link for this guide?
You could use http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20090301182558/http://www.carspace.com/guides/2001-06-Hyundai-Elantra-Audio-Guide, but http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?autocom=ibwiki&cmd=article&id=57 is the same guide.
