Got a honduh/Acura? Need/want info? Bring your questions here.
I know alot of our members are multi-car families and getting GOOD information from HMA is extremely difficult. So, for EC members only I'm offering as much info as possible. Edit: Remember that my main posting hours are 8am-6pm EST mon-fri, so any weekend questions will be handled on Mondays. -------------------- Founding Member of the Indiana Chapter of the Teeny Weeny Club for Secure Adult Males

QUOTE (silet @ Feb 8 2007, 10:24 AM) Did that. When is a tune up due? She has the car from 01 with the same plugs, wires, distributer cap & rotor and fuel filter. QUOTE (Bobzilla @ Feb 8 2007, 10:27 AM) My best "source" doesn't recommend the wires or plugs til 100-105k (which is the recommendation) but do change cap/rotor/filter at 60k. Honduh wires rarely wear out before 150k in all honesty. QUOTE (silet @ Feb 8 2007, 10:30 AM) QUOTE (Bobzilla @ Feb 8 2007, 10:35 AM)

Alright, so Sarah bought an '02 Civic EX 2-door Auto last year, like 12k on the odometer if it's for real. No major problems so far - trunk latch had to be replaced (there's a few TSBs about that). I've noticed a slight shift flare between the higher gears like 3/4 or when the torque converter locks. It's been the same for a year though and Sarah doesn't notice it. Also, since it's a coupe, I find the seatbelt pretty hard to fetch 'cause it's so far back. Do they make some accessory to help that..?

Well, there is no actual bulletin for the tranny. It is something they are familiar with, they've even replaced a few trans because of it, but there's nothing official from honduh on it like the odyssey/accord/tl/mdx.
As for the seatbelt . . . you're on your own. You might try some way to hold it to the seat. -------------------- Founding Member of the Indiana Chapter of the Teeny Weeny Club for Secure Adult Males

Bob, I got a oil filter for the Integra. It's the same as the Elantra (Pure One)!!! Does that mean I can use the Hyundai filter next time?

Yes. . . BUT!!! Don't use the honduh filter for the Elantra(if we're talking OEM). All the books say that honduh/hyundai are the same. Just one more reason why I stay OEM.
The ACDelco # for both Hyundai and Honduh is PF1127. But the honduh filter is the same size as the Motorcycle filter (read: Tiny). -------------------- Founding Member of the Indiana Chapter of the Teeny Weeny Club for Secure Adult Males

No, I wasn't going to use a Honda filter. I have 3 Hyundai filters left and I'll order another 10 pack and use them on both cars. Does the Integra use crush washers too, and are they the same? I used the Hyundai washers on my son's 93 Escort with no problems.

05 CRV: Question regarding brake maintenance at 12k miles, it recommends taking apart the rotors and cleaning etc, front first then rear later. Its close to $200, I was thinking that the brakes are "wear items" so they would not be covered under warranty anyways. Needed or not?

Servicing is honduhs preventative mainenance. With the Acura line, 7500 miles is the recomended time for a rotate/brake service. THe M77 Molypaste they use IMO does not hold up over time and is why they recomend the cleaning/relubing.
If it helps, the cars that have been followed by the book to a "T" tend to have NO caliper issues into the 200+K range. Those that have been ignored tend to need rears by 70-100k. It's an optional service and the choice is yours. -------------------- Founding Member of the Indiana Chapter of the Teeny Weeny Club for Secure Adult Males
