Mitch,
The Edmunds CarSpace people asked me to do a writeup on installing a head unit in an Elantra (I've guided people through it several times and they now have a Guides section). It's a pretty comprehensive writeup; if you want to add it to the DIYs, that's okay with me. Just to warn you though: I linked to Aaron's DIY for installing the bin with the door, but I also linked to EXD's fascia removal DIY (since theirs has a picture). Anyway, here is a link to the guide: 2001-06 Hyundai Elantra Audio Guide -------------------- A proud member of the club.

The link's not working for me Dooh... but it could be my crappy Millenium Edition acting up again here.

Hmmm... weird. I logged out of Edmunds and clicked the link and it still worked, so, yeah, I blame Bill Gates.

Did you want to get an original connector back on to make everything clean? I saw one on ebay for I think $13 shipped.

You could use the Wayback Machine, but this is the same guide.
