This one is being shown at the Geneva show and it's a huge upgrade over the outgoing model...

Looks like this might give the upcoming Accent some competition. Although... can it really be called competition when Hyundai controls Kia? laugh.gif

Looks great! Now they need to offer one with a basic package (no power anything, basic stereo, etc) and price it below everybody else. There is still the "Geo Metro" market, the buyer who wants great mileage in a basic car for a reasonable price. Hyundai has the Accent to show that they can pack a lot of features into a reasonably priced car. There are people out there who don't care about power windows and cruise control.

Too many "layers" in the styling. Look at the photo of the front: There's a lip, then an intake, then a little shelf, then the grill, then a band with the Kia logo, then the hood. Too busy for my taste. Not awful, mind you, but I like a cleaner look.

That said, I wouldn't rule it out. I looks okay.

Having looked at most all of the other designs, this is pretty cohesive. Sure there's many elements to the overall look but it comes together to my eye far better than Ford's ideas or the Veloster for example. But if you really want ugly, take a gander at the stuff the foreigners are vomiting up in Geneve, horrible stuff, horrible considering the cost. On the other hand, the Alfa 4C, Saab Combi and BMW wagon all look nice but I'll never afford them...

NICE!

And it is!

I didn't spend much time looking it over because I, a) didn't want to waste the salesman's time and b) needed to get home. All they had to see at the moment were 2 black ones with the stone interior, but my first impression was good. I was reminded of the Forte interiors but I really like the dash- simple and to the point but not in an econobox way, it is kinda elegant in it's minimalism. The cargo area is definitely smaller than my Elantra and the back seats may be as well. The driver's area seemed roomy enough for my average build, Autoblog did a nice writeup recently and confirmed this. The model I saw was the EX, and it would be fun to test drive either the EX or the SX for sure (which may come after a time). I would put one on the short list for sure thumbsup.gif
