Welcome to the Club!

I'm not sure anyone around here has one of those installed. Not sure what sort of rake angle the rear window has on the newer models, but once I'm moving in my '03 the rear window stays clear enough that I don't need to use my rear wiper.

The reason they make any sense on an Evo is because those cars can go fast enough for the boundary layer to separate at the trailing edge of the hood, forming an area of low pressure behind the back window which creates drag. The fins break up the laminar flow which creates enough turbulence to help the air follow the contour of the body. I very highly doubt that an Elantra can go fast enough to produce a condition where this feature would be useful.

Therefore, it's rice. Please don't. It will look just as silly as a park bench wing.

i can tell you havent done any searching. there are quite a few articles on the web about the vortex generator. there is a nice youtube with a toyota corolla being tested at 43.5mph. one can CLEARLY see the airflow is straightened out over the rear windshield. and the corolla has a much steeper windshield. i would think this would result in slightly less noise, and a very small increase in mpg, esp at freeway speeds. i really dont care about looks, i would install anything that makes the car more efficient. a sunroof deflector makes using the sunroof way more pleasant. vent visors allow the windows to be open slightly, increasing airflow thru the car, and are excellent to dissipate heat when parked. i could care less what they look like, they work.
