Does any know if it is possible to upgrade the 5th gen like the 4th gen?

There are plenty of reasonably priced options. I do see that the radio controls have bluetooth, which I'm not expecting to work plug+play.

The car they had in stock with the colors/features I wanted didn't include the radio controls, just cruise control. And I didn't realize I wanted it until now wink.gif

Hey, according to the GT radio wiring diagram, there are 2 pins for the MIC. So if that's all it takes, I may be able to get bluetooth to work too. Just don't want to jump the gun on taking the steering wheel apart if another kind person has already and is willing to share.

I didn't realize that they made a model now without the steering wheel controls! Honestly, can't recall hearing anyone mention they didn't have it and wanted to add it to their steering wheel, but I may be mistaken. confused-scratchhead3.gif

This may be true now of the SE trim that I chose because it seemed to have everything I needed. I'm curious now if my radio is bluetooth capable because all the steering wheel radio remotes seem to have bluetooth. I can see a manufacturer disabling features for the sake of trim levels, but there are usually ways to unlock them too. Does anyone know how to tell if bluetooth is in there? Is the receiver apart of the steering wheel controller too?

I would think your radio would be the same as other Elantras (not including ones with the navigation unit), but posting a picture may help. That behind said, your car would likely be missing the microphone which is right above the drivers head in the headliner which would be needed for bluetooth capabilities. It also would likely be missing the wiring to the steering wheels for the steering wheel remote.

It seems if you are handy with wiring you could add the steering wheel remote and bluetooth capabilities to the stock headunit.
