Well, I guess it is a good thing the days of the drive in theatres are dead. Is this is a thing with newer cars these days? Not being able to sit in the car listening to the radio with the engine off for more than 5 mins without it telling you every 5 mins thereafter to start the engine to avoid battery drain? Annoying, that's what that is! lol

they put it there because todays infotainment systems are not yesterdays radios.

back in the day, your radio would easily drive 2 or 4 low powered speakers for days. nowadays you have a radio with an LCD, powering an amp that is driving 6-8 speakers. its a much bigger battery drain and lets face it, battery technology has not really improved... atleast in cars like this.

Hmm, guess I don't have a new enough car for this issue, but it would be very annoying.
Kind of defeats the purpose of having the ability to leave the radio on if it constantly nags you. So how does it tell you, just a dinging bell or what?

It beeps every 5 mins or so with a visual warning on the screen. It is quite annoying, not to mention, I wonder how long you could actually let it run without it draining the battery. I have had systems in past cars that drew ALOT more power than this thing does, and I ran it for hours.
