600HP in FWD form is completely useless for anything other than drag racing. Hell, look at the MazdaSpeed3. 270hp is almost more than the front wheels can handle.

My mom's 265bhp Eclipse GT does pretty good getting the power to the ground while managing to turn. Of course, it has a 20' turning radius...

But it also weighs 3600 lbs! More weight, it needs that power. The MS3 weighs a little more than the Elantra does. Lighter cars have a hard time putting down the power with skinny tires.

Nah, it only weighs 3200 lbs. The coupe only weighs just over 3. Just sounds to me like the MS3 needs bigger meat up front.

The one I drove in aggression was wearing 255/17's dunlop ZII's on 8.5" wheels. It was tuned and that was it. plus, being a turbo car, the torque was there RIGHT NOW turning the tires into a molten mess. It was literally a lesson in patience. The loud pedal was only to be used once the wheel was unwound.

ten inch tread width on a 8.5" wheel is probably part of the problem going into a turn depending on sidewall

i drove a stock 08" and loved it in back roads. but not enough love to buy it. i dont know about the new ones, but i felt like i was sitting just as high as the Edge...

It wasn't sidewall flex. You just couldn't use the throttle with the wheel turned. It woudl turn fine, off throttle. As soon as you asked those front wheels to split the traction circle and they turn to smoke.

YEAH, 280ftlbs of peak torque at 2100rpms is a lot different than 230ftlbs at 4500.
