My wife has owned a 2003 Elantra GLS since new. The car still has just 99K and is in great shape. My wife has decided to get a new car. Believe me that in it's self is just amazing. I looked at and drove a very nice 2013 Elantra coupe today. We are probably going back Saturday and buy the car. That means the 03 will be going up for sale. This will be her third straight Elantra. All three have been great cars.

I know guys the 03 is just broke in. The only problem she has ever had with the car was about five years ago it overheated and cracked the radiator. Fortunately it was about time for the timing belt replacement. So had that and all the belts and hoses done at the same time. Other than that just regular maint. over the years. I have thought about keeping it for an extra car but don't really need the expense of three cars. As far as the Veloster goes she does not like the look of the car. She says she will stick with Elantra, and you know what they say. Happy wife, happy life.

I had the same dilemma when I go my truck. I really did not want to get rid of the Elantra, but just could not justify the expense of 3 cars with 2 drivers (and my daughter not getting her license for another 5 years).

Maybe I will have the couple of dings taken out, clean and detail it and take it to car shows on the weekends. I'm sure that would piss off the RWD muscle car guys when my wife's Elantra beats there asses LOL. A few years back Yahoo called it one of the most significant cars of the decade! I hate to get rid of it.
