I have read a lot of topics and answering post on this forum and for the most part I understand, however, I do wonder what makes a car a "Ricer". Since I sold my last pure racecar (a 1985 RX 7 that I raced as a spec 7) I am on my third car. A modded up little focus ZX3 and a somewhat less modded up 2005 Scion tC that only had the rims replaced and was lowered. Now for the current question, my daily driver is a black 2013 Elantra and here are my planned changes as well as those I have already done. Already done is replaced stock radio speakers with Alpine units of the same size and two 10" Rockford rear base speakers with an amp. Next change planned is to purchase Motige Rims MR 116 BRS and use stock size tires ( I hated the 40 Profiles I had on my focus and the stock 45s on the Scion did not last all that much longer) Last change will be to lower approx 1.5" front and rear.
Oh, one last thing I had planned (As I did on the Scion) will be to have a red pin stripe on the side to accent those on the rims.

Well, now for the question being asked, would this be considered as too much rice or not?

This should some it up. The funny part about this guy is he said my elantra was a pos. Haha!

No, I would think those are reasonable/tasteful mods that would add to the overall aesthetic of the design, not as the above would define otherwise.

^Agree with Pops. The mods you have in mind are tasteful and not 'wrong' for the car. Whereas the ones slow put up are just ughhh... even if they were finished/painted properly. The style of the additions don't match the style of the original.

Go ahead with your plans, that will be one nice looking Elantra.

Hey-I also agree your plans sound great. The Grand Am pictured above is a mess.

yup i agree with the grand am picture.. if you have giant spoilers, tons of stickers, add on hood scopps or vents that can be bought for $20 at a local shop.. then it must be a ricer (jeff foxworthy remake)

Whatever is done should be done to enhance the lines of the car, not to catch some 18 year olds eye.

Keep it clean, keep it simple. Do not however, keep it cheap.

and a three foot tall aluminum spoiler with matching door handles And lambo doors
that say dual exhaust while only having the stock muffler which spits fire by a switch

Oh no, I'm so sorry... the correct answer is The Moops.

The packaging clearly stated '100'. I'm short ONE luft balloon.

Picture for clearer understanding of 'ricer' according to trolololololo!
What's wrong with a three foot tall aluminum spoiler? sarcasitc-bow.gif
