I've been looking around the forums but i have not seen
anything on the new Elantra Touring, now that it is
being promoted on the Hyundai web site.

Has anyone been into a dealer lately and seen any of these?

it's getting time to replace our 97 wagon and this looks like
a good choice.

How many km on the 97 wagon. I have a 98 Suzuki wagon that I put 300,000 on before selling it (it's still driving to this day). Just wondered how the Hyundai faired for you?

The 97 wagon has 182,000 km (my 02 GT has 183,000 km) but its the
rust thats beging at the roof rail mount and around the wheel arch.

Also its a base model with no options and "she who must be obyed" wants
AC and power locks and power windows and . . . . . she wants my car.

Also the snow tyres are 10 years old and we will need a new set next year
and the summer tyres are 2 different brands and they are both shot so
keeping this car will mean getting 8 more tyres, 14" that will not fit the
new Elantras, i'll have to sell them to a Accent person.

Just thought that this seems like a good time for a upgrade.

On Motoring 2009 they said that the Touring is one of the top end cars on the compact platform. happy.gif Hyundai just keeps improving by leaps and bounds.

Liking ours so far, even if she's a little boring looking.
Going to fix that.

How has yours held up CC?

We didn't make it into a Touring.
When the wagon gave up at 195,000 we got a 10 Accent 3-door.
It's been good so far.
When the GT died at 265,000 i got a 12 Accent 5-door, liking it a lot.

The 5-door Accent is larger than my 92 Elantra 4-door!
1992 Elantra

171.6 " exterior length

65.9 " exterior body width

54.5 " exterior height

98 " wheelbase

2012 Accent

162” exterior length

66.9” width

57.1” height

101.2“ wheelbase

And has a lot more features too.
