I wanted to add some color to the exterior of my new car, so I removed the emblems and did custom backgrounds to them with some blue metallic vinyl I purchased from a local sign shop. The rear emblem was difficult because the 3m tape residue took at least an hour to clean from the back side of the emblem itself. It was very easy to clean from the trunk though.

For the front emblem, I had to remove the bumper cover and convince the round clips off that hold it to the grille. Then cut out a solid background from a plastic tote to adhere the vinyl to.

I have some material left over, so I may do something with the fog light blanks too.

Ya, good job so far flcruising! I like the blue. At first, I thought you did the whole emblem blue, but that's awesome that you could manage to just do the back area. Almost looks like the Hybrid Sonata. Those have the blue the same way. Get some weathertech floor mats! My latest favorite accessory. Check them out on my elantra:

Thank you for the compliments. I've always admired the Sonata hybrid, and did get the idea from it. I even considered purchasing one, but wanted a 6-speed manual this time.

As for the floor mats, first thing I did was order the genuine all-weather mats from a dealer. I couldn't justify the expense of the Weathertech. Though they don't have as good of protection, they should work acceptably well with 3 young-ens.

Car looks good. I do also like the Blue badging on the hybrid. Even when the car is black.

3 young-ens ehh??? I can relate! Mine are 11, 7, and 4.

I like the blue badging as well and nice job with the DIY application! I have a suggestion for your next mod. Get rid of that dealer sticker! laugh.gif I was so annoyed when I took mine off as each letter had to be peeled off separately.
