Peel and Stick, Gotta love vinyls.

A little change to the vinyl layout on the dash. It now goes down to the climate control area blending with the matt black section that's already there.

I like it. Where do you get the vinyl from, how much is it, does it come in white? I have thoughts on my car. No money, but thoughts. biggrin.gif

Check out metrorestyling.com. The have 3M vinyl but also much cheaper options if you're looking for a solid color.

Wow, that's uber-cheap. I was figuring on $30-$50 for some. I want to do the center console along the shifter as well as the dash fascia. I think they'd look pretty cool in white. White rims too, on the outside.

Hey-be careful with the white. It can cause glare on the windshield if you go too high up on the dash.

On the 3M site and other places, they mention wheels as something to wrap, and I've seen this video on YouTube, but I've never found any follow-up on durability, what happens when you change tires, etc. While paint is also going to suffer if you brush a curb, the vinyl will most likely rip and expose the different color below -- making it more obvious. Depending on the finish, you could probably fix a section and make it look like a reasonable repair until you wanted to do the entire thing again.

If you go with the 3M, I think you could do four wheels for about $50 with a 36x60 piece (it's on sale now). The tough part (I actually tried this with a scrap piece at one time) is getting the deep wells between spokes. I notice in the video above that he uses some strips to finish off the inside edges, which would work. You could get a 48x48 piece of the cheaper stuff for about $25, but, personally, I'd go the extra $25 at this point (again, on sale) for the 3M because I've never worked with the cheaper stuff so I don't know how well it stretches, sticks, etc.

I might actually try this, if for no other reason than to add to the body of knowledge on durability. Like I said, I've found no followups anywhere months after it was done.

I just put a piece of it on an old steel door and hit it hard with a hammer at an angle (enough to dent the door) and it marred the finish but didn't rip. Then again, a jagged bit of concrete would do more scraping. Dunno.

I saw that video before but will work with flat surface rims I did on my rims it won't last long, IMO plasti dip better & cheaper I did it my rims.
Benman I would reccomend you get top quality 3M vinyl especially for exterior make easy to install & last long , some time cheaper it does'n mean better.
Cold weather is not work good for apply vinyl a lot bubble.

OH, no, hahahaha! I wasn't going to WRAP the wheels. I just want to get white rims to put on the car. Ones from a 1985 Saab 900 SPG, to be exact. smile.gif

I wouldn't be doing the top of the dash - that'd stay grey. Just the fascia around the radio and the center console would be white.

That looks really sweet, that's the look I wanted when I had my focus, but everything was a corny textured pebble, so my option was paint, vinyl looks trillion times smoother!

Oh no, I'm so sorry... the correct answer is The Moops.

The packaging clearly stated '100'. I'm short ONE luft balloon.

Vinyl and a leather grip cover added to the steering wheel.
