Well after doing a substantial amount of research and then making a couple stops at dealerships I think we have finally narrowed down what vehicle we are planning on getting. And that vehicle is a 2007 Hyundai Entourage Limited, with the beige leather interior with wood trim and the exterior colors we'd consider are Black, Cranberry Red, or the light blue. Now I just need to find one within a reasonable distance for a decent price. Unfortunately we decided about a week too late as a dealership around the corner had one (a 2007 limited model) that they sold for 15k!!! It was black which is my wife's numer one color. So anyways, if you happen to see an Entourage for sale that matches our criteria feel free to let me know. If we can't find a limited model, we might consider the SE (though I really prefer the leather which is so perrrrty). We're also looking at getting one with 45k or less miles (to ensure we have 1-2 years of warranty coverage left)
As an FYI, we pretty much narrowed it down to the Odyssey, Sienna, or Entourage. We looked at a new Odyssey which was nice but very pricey. Then we stopped at a Toyota dealership to check out Sienna's but found out they only had two in stock, one of which was new and one was old. We peered in the used one's and found the interior VERY bland and unispiring. Then we were walking back we glanced in the interior of the 2008 cranberry red limited entourage they had sitting on the lot and my wife was quite impressed. We took it out for a test drive (both my wife and I took turns driving it) and at that time decided what we wanted which is also the most economical to buy! Also, the main reason we decided on a 2007 v. a 2008 is that the asking prices are substantially less. There seem to be a bunch of 2008's that are "used" which dealerships picked up at auction (basically new cars with less than 200 miles) but that seems to make everyone else think they can ask crazy prices for entourages that are truly used with 30-40k miles. -------------------- Please consider helping keep the club online and independent. Entourage is / was Hyundai's version of the Kia Sedona minivan.
The entourage was dropped this year from Hyundai's lineup. We enjoyed our 07 SE until the lease was up this Summer. The only real issue was the power sliding doors which finally were repaired with a TSB. You might scout out places like Enterprise or Hertz. There were a ton of these put into the rental car market when sales were so weak. -------------------- |

Entourage is / was Hyundai's version of the Kia Sedona minivan. That's good advice.

That's probably where the vehicles came from for the one dealership around me. When I called the guy said they had picked up 42 at one time (i'm guessing from auction) and only had 3 left. As far as the SE, is leather and a power tailgate the only main differences between that and the limited model? Also, does the '07 SE have the electroluminescent guages? I believe the '07 limited did. -------------------- Please consider helping keep the club online and independent. Donate here to help the club.

IIRC you are right. SE was minus the power rear door & fancy guages. (Mine were green much like your gen Sonata.) I believe the stereo was different too with a center speaker in the center of the dash.
The upper level of the Kia has all of these things too I believe. -------------------- |

This might sound like a dumb question, but, if the Entourage and the Sedona are pretty much the same vehicle, why not cross shopt those models, and consider purchasing the Sedona?

They are the same vehicle but you have to pay attention to the option "groups". KIA and Hyundai have different things grouped at different rates. You really have to look carefully to find the best cost/benefit package.
Cross comparison is a great move, along with playing a KIA dealer off against a Hyundai dealer if you can find a Sedona and an Entourage that you like equally. -------------------- 19 mm sway bar, easy intake mod with K&N filter, Pioneer DEH P4800MP, DC Strut Bar, Brushed Aluminum Dash Kit. |
