Hello there,
I am a proud owner of a 2000 Elantra (J2) that has become my daily driver. I have approximately 120k miles and am looking to keep this car for a long time. Anyway at this point I'm looking to repair some damage that's been with the car for awhile - I've replaced a fender and am replacing the bumper cover as well. I figured since I have access to the fog lights, why not install those too? At this point it looks like a dumb decision but I took the plunge and bought the brackets and lights. Now comes the tricky part - how the hell do I wire the fog lights in? If possible, I'd like to keep it stock. If anyone could offer any advice on how they wired their lights in or point me in the right direction I'd be really grateful. Thanks! -------------------- A proud member of the club.

Like i said before, i wired mine to my low beams, so they were on with my head lights. But you could get a universal fog light wiring kit and switch. As for finding oem buttons and wiring, that my be hard to come by. Would have to look in scrap yards for a car that had them factory. But remember this, not many cars had fogs in the usa. If you do happen to fine a car with them, by all means grab everything. Anyway good luck with your project.

Slowgls,
Thanks for the input. At this point after a solid two days of searching I'm probably leaning towards wiring them in with the low beams. As you said there weren't many in the US that came with fog lights, so much so that I can't even find a fog light switch on any site. I honestly have no idea what the stock switch even looks like, or where it even goes. I'm inclined to say it would go next to the hazard switch but maybe it's part of the stalk with the regular headlights? At this point I'm more curious what it looks like and how it integrates with the car. Anyway in my searching I found this: https://www.hyundaipartsdeal.com/genuine/hy...2240-38000.html Which looks to be the actual plug that goes into the fog light. I'll plug that into the fog light (I was able to find the brackets from your post 5 years ago, thanks for that; I found the right on ebay for $30 and the left I wound up buying from a dealer for about $60). With that I'll be able to mount them plug them in and go from there. I'm honestly not sure where to go from there in terms of stock parts - based on sites like hyundai parts deal I've been trying to look at the schematics to see what the stock parts were. The closest I found for the stock switch is this: http://www.wholesalehyundaiparts.com/showA..._category=26758 On this page they have the light for the fog light (the part in the dash) as well as a switch but looking at the diagram that doesn't look like my dash so I have no idea. I wish there were actual images of the parts. Oh well. Furthermore after that I would imagine I would need the relay as well as the wires to connect the relay, fog lights themselves, and the switch, which is probably related to the whole harness. Based on the links above the cost of that harness would be approximately $1000 and as much as I love my J2 there is no way I'm going to spend that much money on parts. I'm not sure if I'm stupid, persistent or both but I may start to call junk yards to see if I can find a car that had stock fog lights. If anyone has any feedback of any sorts it's absolutely appreciated -------------------- A proud member of the club.

I'm about 90 percent sure there were no J2 fog lights in the USA. I was going to buy some a couple years ago but never did. Iirc Rockauto has them for the cheapest, around $60 each, which is still pretty expensive.

It's funny we bring this up. Few years ago I seen my old j2 in the junk yard with the fog lights still on the car. So I grabbed them and are now sitting in my room. Lol.
