This is a new thread for the air dam mesh.
old one is http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3492&hl= Yes, I did change a couple prices to reflect the effort I put into these.
We've had a few punctured condensers and this will probably be some cheap insurance (compared to the $600 repair bill) against that happening to you!
Details:
I wrote up http://elantragtclub.tripod.com/elantra/id488.html but some folks can't find the mesh and I've been asked to do a 'group buy'. There's no need for a minimum # of participants so it doesn't really follow the normal GB idea.
Kits will be pre-cut plastic or aluminum mesh (as specified in the option)and include zip ties(I have white, black, dark red, and blue ties). Price includes shipping to US and Canada !! (I can look into shipping anywhere else.)
Grille pieces do NOT replace the stock grille - they're just added protection.
Pricing Disclaimer:
I readily admit that it would cost you a lot less to go to the store and get mesh and do this yourself, especially since my fellow Americans will be helping cover the shipping cost differences for any Canadian members.
Options: (prices in $US)
1a) 01-03 GT Air Dam --- $7
1b) 01-03 GT Air Dam + grille --- $8
2a) 01-03 GLS Air Dam --- $7
2b) 01-03 GLS Air Dam + grille --- $8
3a) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam and fogs --- $8
3b) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam and fogs + grille --- $10
3c) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam NO fogs --- $6
3d) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam NO fogs + grille --- $7
4) 10' of uncut mesh --- $6
You may add additional kits to your order for 1/2 price.
You may 'upgrade' to aluminum mesh for $2 more per kit.
Examples:
-- 1a shipped to Oregon = $7
-- 2b shipped to Toronto = $8
-- 3b+3b shipped to Cleveland = $12
-- 3c+upgrade shipped to Chicago = $8

Yep, included in price. I get busy (work, school, 3 kids, etc.) and sometimes it can take me a week or so to get a kit out, so please be patient. If it's been a week, then please PM me and I'll try harder.
Now, I can get the gutter mesh, and the zapstraps... but I can't find the stickytabs to use as an anchoring system. any idea if you could fire these over here?
The sticky tabs have actually been working pretty well for me. I picked up a pack of three and mounted them strategically to the underside of the bumper and they're still strong even after the 3,000 mile jaunt (at 80MPH+ for long periods) across the country and the 3,000 miles I've put on the car since then. But I can see how they would probably fail after a while. If they do I'll just buy new ones, they were only about $0.80 for three and who doesn't love climbing under the car every now and then?

but they should be at your local hardware store (in the 'hardware' section) with the velcro and little felt feet and stuff.
I think I got mine at the Dollar Store.
What I did was I first removed the plastic cover that spans the gap between the grille and the radiator. It's held down with those quick rivets (that what they are?) so you need a phillips head screwdriver if you can't pop them out by hand. Depending on how large of a person you are you will be able to reach through the gap to do the zip-tying.
All I did was wrap one ziptie around the bumper (the actual metal bar and not the plastic bumper you traditionally think of as the bumper) to act as an anchor and then used another ziptie to go from the mesh to the anchor.
Basically there weren't any anchor points so I made one.
Oh and having removed my grille to trade it with CleanElantra I noticed that it would be a LOT easier to mesh the dam without the grille in place. It's not necessary but it would help.
The title of this thread should now be changed to "GonzoSport Air Dam Mesh"
Well it seems the company that makes the mesh I was using is cutting costs by reducing the quality/thickness of their mesh and I'm having a hard time finding the "good" stuff.
I have enough left for one more kit, then I'll have to sell my templates.
For everyone who has wanted to get one of these kits from me ... the clock is ticking.
still avail? I need 1b
I would like 2B if available.
give me until the end of the week, and i may be interested in package 1b
Well, I technically sold my last kit, but I'll see what I can do with the bits I have left + templates.
hmmm cool, let me know
need something to protect the intercooler
intercooler?
You may want something more like this:

(BTW, these are the guys I got my RedLine stuff from)
Nah, I wasn't going to protect it at all, it's very heavy duty and the bars and plates are thick as heck. Though I thought that your mesh would maybe keep the bugs and little rocks out of the core
Interested in 3b if you have enough parts.
how about the 06' models? can you do those too?
The 2006 is a carryover and the kits for the 04-05 models will work perfectly.
But.... all the mesh I can find anymore is about 1/2 or less thickness of the mesh I was using when I started making the kits.
I don't like it.
I'm still on the lookout for a decent supply of "the good stuff".
