What is the average price of gas these days in Russia and how much does it vary by area? Ours is probably around $2.30 a gallon for 87 octane. What octanes are available in Russia?

there coud be any mistakes, but if it'll be, i think my friend will correct me wink.gif
octanes:
80 (worse only gas with water wink.gif) about 0.56$
92 (regular) used by most of all Elantra owners 0.6$
95 (super) .................................................... 0.63$
98 (extra) .................................................... 0.66$

Is that the price per liter? If that's the case your gas is a bit lower than ours. And what runs on 80 octane? confused-scratchhead3.gif 98 octane? ... wow! ohmy.gif

If it helps mitch, my 1989 Caprice could run on 81 octane gas, at least according to the manual.

Octane is not figured the same way everywhere. "octane in the United States will be about 4 to 5 points lower than the same fuel elsewhere: 87 octane fuel, the 'normal' gasoline in the US and Canada, would be 91 in Europe."

i always thought that 80, 92, 95 is octane, but wasn't sure exactly, thats why i put (regular, super and extra) - i've seen this words in some US movies, when some characters was taking a gas on a petroll station rofl.gif

There are different methods of mesuaring octane in US and Europe
Here is a table (Europe = US):

80 = 76
91 = 82,4
92 = 83
93 = 85
95 = 87
98 = 89

So, on octane 98 in Russia runs the same cars, wich run on octan 89 in US

Price lower???? $0.63 per liter (95=87)* 3.98 (1 gallon = 3.98 liters) = $2,5074 > $2.30

And our incoms, guys, are not American incoms!!!! And MUCH less tax exemptions!!!

Hi,

In england we pay £4.95 per gallon for diesel (4.546 litres per gallon) and £4.77 per gallon of petrol/gas.

I think we must pay more for fuel than anywhere else, surely!

Regards

Michael.

Wow, that suddenly makes me feel better about the $1.05ish/liter we are at around here.

Do keep in mind however that a U.S. gallon is 3.78 liters and not an imperial gallon.
