For a limited time all Hyundai's purchased will recieve a 5yr / unlimited kilometre warranty.
Compared to Australia's best warranty offer by only Hyundai of 5yr/ 130,000km. It would be a good time to get on a great deal like that.

Here is a comparison between 2005 and 2004 car sales in Australia.
It's great to see how fast Hyundai's sales are climbing compared to the rest of the car makers.
Whats even better is that Australia has not had sales figures like this since 1997 with 59,212 sales. At that time Hyundai's model line-up only consisted of four cars ... Excel (Accent), Elantra (Lantra), Coupe and Sonata.
Hyundai made motoring History in Australia with the ever popular Hyundai Excel (Accent) that finished in 3rd place as one of the best selling cars of the year, only behind the locally produced Commodore and Falcon.
Finally Hyundai had recovered from its 2002 sales blow of only 34,000 odd cars when the brand introduced a price rise across the range.
ALL of us 05 owners can say we are included in the final 48,010 figure with our Elantra's!!!

Hey Guys,
Well I've been pondering an idea and just wanted to share it with you all, I figured if we are all having a meet.. And people are going to be seeing a bunch of Elantra's cruisin around their local area, I figure we should atleast have a title for our crew..
Now we can't neglect our American friends who have kindly given us this opportunity and our own little playground to run-a-muck in.. So I'm thinkin in return, the least we could do is include this site in some way..
Here is my idea: Elantra Club's Down Under Crew (ECDUC)
I figured it would be fun, and we could make up decals etc so we could advertise for the Club and show off our awesome rides at the same time..

Anyone from Victoria may appricate this document I found while browsing.
Keep a close eye on your speedo while on the Princess Highway from Melbourne to Geelong. There will be new speed camera's operating on the In and Out bound lanes from Melbourne all the way to Geelong.
It has been mentioned that these camera's are only in there trial period and should be ready for the summer holidays.

Victorian Speed Camera Locations
Why list speed camera locations?
With the Victorian government recently reducing tolerance levels on speeding infringements, it got us to thinking just how accurate the Speedo is on the average car? To put it to the test, we purchased a Tom Tom Sat Nav and linked it to the Speedo of the company Kia, less than 12 months old and with only 12,000 k's on the clock. Predictably, the Speedo in the Kia was inaccurate by a whopping 9.8%, just under the 10% allowed by law. This helps explain why truck drivers persistently travel within a poofteenth of the company car's rear bumper - our speedo reads 100kph when we are really traveling at 89.7! Come trade in time, can we legitimately claim the car to have traveled less than 90,000 k's when the odo reads over 100?
But most alarmingly how do we explain to the authorities that their infringement system provides zero tolerance but they allow new vehicles to take to the road with wildly inaccurate Speedo's? Avoidance is the best strategy, so we are pleased to be able to provide a list of all known Victorian fixed speed camera locations. We would love to be able to provide listings for other States and Territories, so if you have some info that you can pass on please drop us a line.
Own a Tom Tom?
Owners of a Tom Tom Sat Nav system will quickly figure out how to make their trusty companion double as license sentry. Simply program each location as a "Point of Interest" (POI), set the alarm to sound only if this location in on your route and select the distance warning (we recommend 250 metres). Just for the record, we have no association with Tom Tom and paid full retail for our unit. We intend to write a comprehensive report on the Tom Tom in coming months, but can assure those thinking of purchasing one that it comes highly recommended by all the staffers at Unique Cars & Parts! For more info on the Tom Tom, you can visit their site at www.tomtom.com

I today tried doing the Easy Dash Removal, unfortunately I could un-clip it it every where except for the small area of my head unit...
So how do I take out my OEM Head Unit?? I was under the impression you needed the dash off to access the head unit, but in my case it seems to be the opposite way..

Hey Guys,
On a quick review of the poll, considering that's the main info I have to go off.. Most of us live in NSW or Vic, well here's an idea I propose to you all..
Howabout a cruize mid way for both groups, right into the heart of Canberra.. I figure we could all meet up there get to know each other and enjoy the admiration of our 4 wheel chariots..
Seeing as there was no response to the original Oz Meet idea, I figured I'd post this topic to see if anybody was actually intrerested in an interstate meet..
Post here if you're sincerely interested in a meet, we can organize dates, and locations... Just a thought, I'd love to actually meet all of you face to face and see what everyone is really like...
Cheers Guys,
Mike

Well some of us may say speed camera's save lives but i'd like to say I believe that is a load of dog poop.
These damm things are a revenue raiser none-the-less.
In Victoria we now have 18 new camera's installed on a Highway that has not has one single fatality since the new highway upgrade. Now tell me that isn't a revenue raiser.
For our NSW folk, mention whatever speed cameras you have sighted so we can watch out for eachother.
Here is a link I found for speed cameras on NSW roads:

I had been looking on ebay at the spoilers for sale for $50....I am tempted, but thought it might be wise to find out if anyone here has gotten one, and if so, what they think etc. There are lots of wreckers up here, its just a matter of having one day to go out and have a look around to see what is there.

Hyundai Kia own a whopping 21.5 percent of the Russian car market according to edmunds.com:
QUOTE
SEOUL, Korea — Korean automaker Hyundai and affiliate Kia are outpacing their global competitors, including Toyota and Ford, in winning over the vast Russian auto market. The pair has captured a combined market share of 21.5 percent.
Hyundai's market share in Russia reached 17.4 percent in August, and Kia had a 4.1-percent market share. The Korea Times reported that Toyota captured 12.3 percent; Uzbek-Daewoo, 10.5 percent; Mitsubishi, 9.8 percent; and Ford, 8.7 percent.
Hyundai saw its sales in Russia this year surge 114.8 percent for the first eight months, compared with the same period in 2004. The growth was due to the transfer of the company's regional headquarters from Eastern Europe to Moscow last year, a Hyundai official said.
To maintain the rapid growth rate, Hyundai said it plans to supply cars "suitable for the country's climate and geographical features."

Hi all,
Been here done this at the old Forum, great new setup well done Gtman Made a few minor changes to my GLS including full metal tint all round(windows) and found a great little mod for the 04 model bonnet Brow, we have a model called the Elite which is the slightly better model than the GLS and it has a Chrome Grill. As we all know the top of the grill is actually the bonnet so I purchesed the chrome Brow and replaced the old black plastic one, took all of 5 miniutes and cost 40 AUD, Great look. Will postsome pics soon.

I'm an Aussie gal, from Sydney...moving to Wodonga at the end of the year so elantraelite, you won't be on your own down in Victoria, although I will only be in Victoria by about 250metres!!! LOL!!! My Elantra was brand new from the dealer (2003). I paid $17300, and that was with free rims, free tinting, paint protection, and central locking. I thought it was a pretty good deal, plus I was in a state of desperation as my previous car was about to give up the ghost, its a wonder I made it to the dealership, without it coming to a grinding halt, or blowing up.
I think an All Aussie Elantra meet is a great idea, just means I have to start doing something special to my car before then...its pretty much stock standard, and I have been wandering around the forums and the DIY pages panting and wishing for my car to look/zoom like these!!!
