Mine isn't an MD but an XD. That said it is time to trade her in on Saturday Morning. 118,000 miles & 12 years of pretty trouble free driving has taken it's toll. AC is done, lifter tapping and the starter is starting to groan. I pick up my used 2010 1 owner Jetta TDI wagon with 6 speed manual, leather, nav, SAT/HD radio, panoramic sunroof and nice 5 spoke alloy rims on Saturday morning. Sadly the Newer GT's don't have the room in them that XD did. Hard to fit 4 dogs.

Sad to hear that you're parting with yours, but it sounds like you're picking up a decent replacement.

I am now about to hit 132,000 and have absolutely nothing new to complain about. The satellite radio is working fine, the blower motor noise hasn't gotten worse, and I'm still getting 36-37mpg.

What a car!

So I made it to just over 209,000kms (approx. 130k miles) trouble free and then my spouse and i decided a change was in order, the elantra however will remain in my family as my mother and brother will take up joint ownership. I will do my best to keep this thread updated with any issues should they arise.

I really enjoyed my time with that car and what a great choice it was for a first car, hopefully my family will continue to enjoy it as much as i did.

I think the blower motor noise must be a common problem on UD/MDs. My wife and I both have 2013s. Mine just crossed 105k miles on the odo and has made the noise for a while. Her's has just under 45k and has just started making the noise. Other than a front axle issue I had early on that was replaced under warranty I've had no issues with my Elantra and my wife has had no issues with hers. My commute is 90% highway driving with light traffic (read: minimal braking) so I've yet to change any of the pads. The rears need to go first but probably have another 10-15k on them. The fronts, who knows. They're no where close to needing replacement.
