I've decided to try out a K&N air filter element on my 2016 GT. I like the fact that it's reusable, so that cuts down on the cost of replacement filters every 25K or so. I ordered one from their website store, and it comes with free shipping. Neat.

Hey-I've used those filters before and feel they gave my GT a little oomph. I have one now in my Audi Q3 with the same good results.

I ran--ran is the operative word--K&Ns for years, going back to the 1990s.
In the last few years I've seen bookoo studies regarding their air-scrubbing efficiency--the primary function of an air filter--as well as their HP claims The drop-in filters are always at the bottom of the list regarding filtering ability. They let in the most crud. The HP gain is negligible. They do make nice moans on car intakes that lack curves and baffles. Most recently, I bought K&N drop-ins for a 2007 GP GXP, 2011 Chrysler 200 Pentastar, 2013 Soul base and 2013 Charger V6. All those cars apparently had well-baffled intakes. I noticed NO difference in feel or sound. The killer for me is they are very poor filters. Been there, done that, got the hat. No more. And if 10-20 bucks every 12-25,000 miles breaks the bank, how do you buy gas? -------------------- |

I've used them but I much prefer the AEM Dryflow drop-in. No oiling is needed and I think they filter better..

This will be my first time using a K&N filter on any car I've owned, and if they turn out to be not worth the extra money, then lesson learned. But I still wanted to try one.

I agree, everyone who's curious should try one out. I was quite disappointed that I no longer got that cool intake roar with the last few experiments. -------------------- |
