This isn't about which mod is necessarily the most effective performance-wise or the best looking appearance-wise. I'm wondering which of your mods either suprised you the most (it did a lot more than expected) or maybe you did something new mechanically that suprised you the most.

I've suprised myself on a bunch of things. I hadn't really modded cars for like 20 years so when I bought the Elantra I figured maybe a few appearance mods here and there. But I've done a fair amount of performance modding too.

Two things I guess gave me a lot of satisfaction. One was doing that bumper cutout and coming up with the black molding idea. But my most satisfying was probably the Isotta e-brake. It took a lot of balls to cut away my perfectly good stock e-brake:

But the final results were really satisfying:

What was your most "satisfying" mod?

I keep looking at that writup Mitch, and keep telling myself "I just don't want to destroy my handle" so I never do it. I have even gotten on e-bay and found the same handle boot.

Probably the 1 I like most is my front map lights on with the door open. It really suprised me how much I like having more light there in the early morning when I go to work and at night if I am looking for something.

I'll go with the TWM short shifter, because it was my first significant mod that I did myself, like... ever. So it took some courage again, to disassemble the shifter and believe I could put it all back together without help. The results were great too.

As I don't have many... The Tibby sway is my pick. The runner up is my wheels and rubber at 42mm offset. I would like many more, but a house is in the future for me!

Shifter extension - so much better than stock. Tight, and solid.
