One way to prevent rock chips is to get the 3M Paint Protection Film, which is a thick piece clear film that is installed as a invisible bra. I installed that a month after I bought the car, and also have the black vinyl bra I got from Hyundai. The invisible bra extends past the one that I got from Hyundai, and can be custom cut to your specifications.
