I think this is precisely Hyundai's downfall on the Touring. Their marketing images were really lacking. In person it's really much nicer. I will admit, I'm quite intrigued by it... now if only I had more confidence in the economy...

Hmm...Lowered and more power/better fuel mileage just might get me driving one.

Saw one recently at the dealer and it really isn't as bad as all the promo photo's look.
I said in another thread if I was in the market I'd consider it until I got to the Forte. Put the new engines in it and I'd consider it again. -------------------- 19 mm sway bar, easy intake mod with K&N filter, Pioneer DEH P4800MP, DC Strut Bar, Brushed Aluminum Dash Kit. |

I test drove one on Monday. I did not know if I would like (driving it). Well,......... I think it drives as well as it looks. I'll put it on my list when it's time to get a new car.

Picked up our Touring, chilipepper red, beige interior, 5spd manual last saturday in Tucson. Drove it back to New Mexico and have already logged 535 miles on it. So far I'm loving this car. It's replacing a 2003 Elantra GT 5 spd. red (of course) with 200,000+ miles on her.
What attracted me to the Touring is the large amount of space in such a small car and it suits all of our needs in a car of this size. And if it holds up like the GT then I could'nt be happier. Also noticed in owners manual that mfg. suggests inspecting timing belt at 60,000 if ok then replace at 90,000 miles. -------------------- A proud member of the club.

Also noticed in owners manual that mfg. suggests inspecting timing belt at 60,000 if ok then replace at 90,000 miles. REALLY?! That's awesome... mind you, a little vague. What if the mechanic "says" it's ok, but it's not? Will warranty cover it? -------------------- A proud member of the club.

REALLY?! That's awesome... mind you, a little vague. What if the mechanic "says" it's ok, but it's not? Will warranty cover it? Understand your concerns, but if inspection was done by Hyundai tech I would suspect that I would have a strong argument in the event of belt failure. Have had all timing belts replaced on my older Hyundai by dealer just in case, which as I understand if belt broke would result in total engine failure. The 250.00 approx. to have belt replaced every 60,000 miles seems reasonable to me. -------------------- A proud member of the club.
